This film was originally made as an assignment. The prompt was to follow a bus route from where it starts to where it ends. My friend S found it peculiar that 7011 stopped at every house she lived in, her studio, her school, her ex-boyfriend and ex-ex-boyfriend’s house, the taco place she worked at from time to time. I decided to make a film about S. The circular route of 7011 begins and ends at a bus garage. Sitting on the bus, I thought about S. I thought about her art. But the text I ended up writing in the opening sequence was about myself—about plastic, about this guy I used to like. S died a few days before the shoot. On her last night, we went to a karaoke. A movie I did not intend nor ever want to make became my first. It is painful.
