SYNOPSIS
공항에 서 있는 한 남자. 그는 반대편 체크인 카운터에 있는 여인을 바라보며 자연스럽
게 사랑에 빠진다. 그거 탑승권을 받는 사이 그녀는 사라지고, 그는 공항 이민국을 지나 그의 부인이 가장 좋아하는 향수를 산다. 그리고 탑승을 기다리며 공항 일등석 라운지에서 잠시 눈을 붙이는데…. 눈을 떴을 때 그는 이미 탑승해잇고 옆자리에는 체크인 카운터에서 본 여인이 앉아있다. 서로 한마디도 건네지 않을 뿐, 둘은 하늘을 가로지르는 12시간 20분동안 마치 결혼한 부부처럼 함께 음식을 먹고, 영화를 보고, 책을 읽고 서로의 곁에서 잠이 든다.
DIRECTING INTENTION
나는 이 미묘하고 섬세한 러브스토리를 12시간 20분의 실제 시간으로 구현할까도 생각했었지만 이 프로젝트가 디지털단편영화제작 프로젝트라는 사실을 떠올리고 이를 포기했다. 나는 이영화가 단편이라는 형식을 통해 또 다른 감성의 러브스토리가 될 것이라는 것을 믿는다.

3. Twelve twenty
You see her checking in at the opposite check-in counter. You cannot help yourself but falling in love immediately. You get your boarding pass but she is gone. You go through immigration. You buy your wife her favorite perfume. Then you go and relax in the first class lounge waiting to board. You shut your eyes. You wake up and realize you are already on the plane. Your heart stops. She is sitting in the seat next to you, by the window. You and her will spend the next twelve hours and twenty minutes reading, drinking, eating, watching movies and sleeping by each other’s side- just like a married couple. In fact, you won’t even have a word with each other. Bon voyage!
DIRECTING INTENTION
Originally, we wanted to explore this micro love story in its real time, which is twelve hours and twenty minutes. But we abandoned the idea when we learn that this was supposed to be a short film.
DIRECTOR
Pen-ek RATANARUANG
Pen-ek RATANARUANG Ratanaruang was born in 1962 in Bangkok. He is one of the most remarkable directors in the recent film world and is a leading figure of emerging Thailand. He studiedart history at Pratt Institute in New York.His first feature film premiered at the Berlin Film Festival in 1997 and was shown at a half dozen other festivals. His fourth film won the best actor award for Tadanobu Asano at the Venice Film Festival and was Thailand’s submission to the 2003 Academy Awards. This year his recent film which stars Japanese actor Tadanobu Asano and Korean actress Kang Hye-jung heroine of was invited at Berlin Film Festival for the competition section.
