A man is inside a store with a half closed shutter door. There are no customers, although the sign reads ‘Boseong Tile Interior.’ The place is filled with canvas, art materials and unfinished paintings. The man stays here every day from morning til sunset, and spends his day painting on canvas or resting on a rocking chair. Such routine of repetition, comes to form, a part of what holds his life together, and at the same time, disconnects him from the world outside the shutter door. Unlike the seasons of the outer world that flow from summer to autumn, from winter to spring, his time floats about in unknown places. From a corner of this small space, the film observes his time, crisscrossed with doubt and resolution.

This film takes an approach different from the existing ‘artist films’ that mainly interview artists explaining about his/her life and work using relevant images as inserts. From a wider perspective, the life of an artist is not so much different from that of an ordinary person’s. It is only due to the evaluation of the results of their productive activities, that we consider them different. The director of this film does not view artists as special entities. Therefore, the film focuses on scrutinizing by and by on the daily life of an individual, rather than putting forward the fact of the subject being an artist. As such, instead of treating on the life and work of the artist based on his/her statements, the film takes on the path of observing and recording the near-repetitive daily life of an artist. Though this approach, the film poses such questions as: How does art relate to our ordinary lives? Is the life of an artist special?
