SYNOPSIS

1. About Love
Kairat, a lonely teacher of mathematic, accidentally meets his old friend, Askar. Askar invites him at his home, where Kairat becomes acquainted with Togzhan, the wife of Askar. And he falls in love with her. Though this love was mutual, they couldn’t step over the obstacles already made by their lives. They and their emotions delayed. (The script is based on the novel by Chekhov ""About Love"" which is very modern, silent, deep and subtle. Also some bits from his novel ""Gooseberry"" were included.)

DIRECTING INTENTION

The reason to make the film ‘About Love’is that this novel (like all novels by Chekhov) is very modern. As I feel, in our times, so noisy and insolent, we feel the shortage of this kind of emotions –silent, deep and subtle. This film will tell on love which didn’t happen. And I hope, because of it the film will be interesting and authentic. Psychologists say – the emotions, which didn’t find way out and were not embodied, last in memory for long time.
