SYNOPSIS
During the 2001 economic collapse in Argentina, seamstresses at Brukman's clothing factory took over operations after the owners had abandoned them. They reorganized it based on a self-management model, without a doubt the most inspiring of many new economic experiments to have come out at the time. Thanks to large public support, they managed to overcome brutal evictions as well as lengthy legal and political struggles in order to maintain their livelihood and regain their dignity through work. Much more than simply a testimony about the perseverance of these workers, The Women of Brukman presents the adventures of a very human and moving tale.
