SYNOPSIS
아버지의 갑작스러운 죽음 후, 한국에 있는 엄마 곁으로 온 조선족 박림은 직장에서 스스로를 증명하려 하고 ‘무책임한 조선족’이라는 인식을 바꾸고 싶어 한다.
그러던 어느 날, 중국에서 정직원 제안이 들어오고 출장 기간을 고려해 거절하려 했지만, 엄마의 반대에 부딪히며 편견에 대한 두 사람의 태도가 갈라진다.
DIRECTING INTENTION
매체를 통해 한국 사회에서 조선족에 대한 인식은 단일하게 고정되어 왔다. 이 영화는 부모님 세대와 크게 달라진 청년 조선족들의 다양한 모습과 생각, 흐름을 보여 주고자 한다. 또한 점점 혼합되어 가는 글로벌 시대 속에서, 늘어나는 다문화 구성원들을 안정감 있게 반기고 포용할 수 있는 한국 사회가 되기를 바라는 메시지를 함께 전하고 싶다.

SYNOPSIS
After her father’s sudden death, Korean-Chinese Park Lim moves to Korea to be with her mother. She fights to prove herself and shed the ‘irresponsible Joseonjok’ label. But when a job offer comes from China, she hesitates due to her work schedule. Her mother objects—and the two clash over their views on prejudice.
DIRECTING INTENTION
The media has long reduced Joseonjok (ethnic Koreans from China) in Korea to a single stereotype. This film presents the diverse lives and perspectives of young Joseonjok — a generation vastly different from their parents’. In our increasingly blended, global era, it also carries a hope: that Korean society may warmly embrace its growing multicultural members with a sense of security and belonging.
