SYNOPSIS
서울에서 온 린과 오키나와 출신 소라는 교토의 한 대학에서 만나게 된다. 두 사람은 영화 제작을 명분 삼아 서로의 호기심을 탐색해 나간다. 잼 샌드위치를 우주에 날리려는 엉뚱한 계획처럼, 그들의 작업은 장르와 현실을 자유롭게 넘나든다. 규정되지 않기를 선택한 채 흔들리는, 지금의 감각을 살아내는 두 청춘의 기록.
DIRECTING INTENTION
<피크 엔드>는 ‘소라’를 찍고 싶다는 마음에서 출발했다. 소라와 나는 일상 속에서 서로를 촬영하며 친밀한 시간을 기록했다. 그러나 곁에 머물고 싶은 마음과 상대의 또 다른 면을 알고 싶은, 서로 모순되는 감정이 공존했기에, 세 명의 스태프를 추가로 섭외했다. 여러 대의 카메라를 통해 주체와 객체의 경계를 허물고, 관객이 능동적으로 해석하는 실험적인 작품을 완성했다.

SYNOPSIS
Rin, from Seoul, and Sola, from Okinawa, cross paths at a university in Kyoto. Using filmmaking as a pretext, the two begin to explore the depths of their mutual curiosity. Much like their whimsical plan to launch a jam sandwich into outer space, their creative process drifts freely between genre and reality. This is a record of two young souls living through the fleeting sensations of the present—choosing to remain undefined and embracing the beautiful instability of youth.
DIRECTING INTENTION
PEAK END began with my desire to film Sola. We filmed each other in our everyday lives, capturing the intimate moments we shared. However, my desire to stay close to Sola coexisted with a seemingly contradictory desire to discover another side of them. This led me to bring three additional crew members onto the project. Through the use of multiple cameras, I blurred the boundaries between subject and object, creating an experimental film that invites the audience to actively interpret what they see.
