SYNOPSIS
군대를 전역하고 독립 후 알바를 전전하던 재민은, 어머니의 위암 판정으로 십년 전 헤어진 아버지를 찾아 울릉도로 떠나게 된다. 그 여정에 막역한 친구 찬희와 연우가 자신들의 여행을 핑계 삼아 끼어드는데...
DIRECTING INTENTION
이야기 속 본인들은 정작 삶을 살아내느라 지쳐 모르고 있지만, 생의 빛나는 시간들이 지나가고 있는 그런 찰나들이 가득한... 다소 옛 정취를 가진 영화를 만들어보고 싶었다.
만들어보고 싶었다. 라고 적고 사실상 보고 싶었다라고 고쳐 적어야 할 것 같다.
그런 영화가 보고 싶었다. 바다 근처에서 술 마시고 한량같이 느그적 대다가 어우 감성 하며 밤에 눈물 글썽이며 잠깐 내 존재를 생각했다가, 다시 술 마시고 토하는 그런 영화.
집으로 돌아올 때 쯤, 그곳에서 보낸 쓸모없는 시간들이 반짝대며 아주 잠깐 스쳐가는 영화. 뭐, 지난한 여정을 통해 존재의 의의를 찾는다면 더없이 좋겠으나 사실상 대부분 깨달음의 순간은 모든 게 지나가고 난 이후에, 여행이 끝난 후, 서울로 돌아온 이후에야 찾아오게 마련이다. 바람이 부디 좋은 곳으로 세 친구를, 우리를 데려다 주기를.

SYNOPSIS
After being discharged from the service, Jae-min scrapes by working part-time jobs. Meanwhile, he left for Ulleung Island in search of his father, who broke up 10 years ago due to his mother's stomach cancer. Chanhee and Yeonwoo, close friends of Jae-min, get involved in the journey….
DIRECTING INTENTION
Even they're not aware of it as they're tired of living their lives, I want to make a film filled with the moments of life’s shining. Even it looks a little bit loutish and has an old flavor. I think I should change the words ‘want to make it’ to ‘want to see it’. I wanted to see that film. The film like drinking near the sea, lounging around, and emotionally thinking of myself in tears at night. Then, again drinking and vomiting again. It's a flick of film that brightens useless time when I you get home. Well, it would be better to find the meaning of existence through a journey, but in fact, most enlightenment moments only come after everything goes by after the trip. I hope wind will take them and us to good places.
