DIRECTING INTENTION

SYNOPSIS
Sixteen-year-old Hyemi, center of her school dance team, dreams of shining on stage. But behind that dream lies a secret: she has kept her parents hidden from the eyes of the world. On the day of the Daeboreum festival, which celebrates the first full moon of the lunar year, a torn stage costume sets off the first cracks in her carefully built world. One by one, her friends turn away, and as her mother's attempt to step out into the world spreads across social media, Hyemi's secret comes close to being exposed.
DIRECTING INTENTION
Waxing or waning, the moon is always whole. In Full Moon, Hyemi hides her parents from her friends, yet on stage she longs to shine brighter than anyone. In an age when we endlessly conceal and reveal ourselves on social media, Hyemi's wavering is a face we all share. This film follows one person as she embraces even her own darkness and slowly grows full.
