SYNOPSIS

A village is in danger of being submerged. That is because building of the Youngju dam nearby the village has been begun. Village people including Maeum Eoreon are coming to terms with disappearance of their village. But it is hard for all the village people to leave their homes. Some of them want to move to another place together. After returning his hometown in 2010, Mr. JANG is struggling alone against Korea Water Resources Corporation. His fight is beyond his power. He feels pitiful about others who never tried to struggle against government and adapt their first relocation in 400 years.

DIRECTING INTENTION

In Korea, numerous villages did not only exist any more with continuous developments in the cities, but also in a country-side. However, the development in the cities is more veiled and violent. The loss of the village people by relocating homes is as much as removed people in the cities. They may feel a deeper sense of loss because they have live in the village for over 400 years.
