In this movie, the main character lives in an oriental world and he enjoys delights and happiness of the oriental world. Suddenly, he faced up to unexpected new world that has the power, realistic and competition, which he has never experienced before. The new world arouses him to get the strong desire to get the delights of the new world among the power, realistic and competition. The new world however is too competitive for him to survive he is unable to get the same delights but frustration. Even though he gets frustrated, he never loses his pure heart originated from his origin. This purity enables him to experience a mysterious oriental world. The main character finds great illumination through the journey. “The illumination happens in everywhere. We just don’t realize. Open your eyes just where you are” In spite of the fact that the world where the main character lives in never changes, everything is delightful for him in that he realizes what the true happiness is. He goesback to the oriental world with illumination where makes him happy.

This movie is made of many symbols. The first symbol is the name of the movie “The way." The way has different meanings in the oriental philosophy. It can be my story or your story. In Korea, we have the traditional picture called “Min-Hwa” which means that the picture is drawn by the people not by people who had a power. In the past, the people who did not have an educational opportunity drew the picture regarding their dreams, ideals and world with their voices. Among those pictures, I found the common dreams that everyone might have. I have had a question about what the happiness is. Finally, I tried to explain what the happiness is in this movie with many symbols; the peaceful life, greed and competition in the real world, the western power, the sadness that he cannot catch up with others competitor, a failure, a loneliness, a kind mind. Through these symbols, I want to tell the people that happiness is not coming from the external factors but under your feet, shining like a morning dew. I felt and saw this from “Min-Hwa”and I made this movie based on that picture.
