SYNOPSIS
Ground Zero deals with the incapability of contemporary people. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, humans have been writing a mythology of extinction and apocalypse for themselves following the chronicles riddled with exploration and discovery. Ground Zero reconstructs the system of nature and life that mankind faces today as if listening to a mythological story through created topographical models and clay dolls.
DIRECTING INTENTION
Ground Zero shows crumbling terrains, models of human beings who are becoming helpless in the face of a series of disasters, and poetic narrations. It portrays the disasters caused by rational reasons and advances, incapacitated humans in a turbulent age as well as unpredictable natural systems and geographical changes. We would like to share the opportunity with viewers to think about how to reflect on today’s world of increasing deficiency due to disasters and the way individuals connect with nature in our own life.
