TIME TABLE

SYNOPSIS

In a world where only white fur is accepted, Armpit Hair Cat hides its black armpit hair, painting them white to fit in. When a strand of black hair is found in a hamburger at workplace, chaos erupts. Armpit Hair Cat collapses under shame.

DIRECTING INTENTION

Armpit Hair Cat is a satirical black comedy that unpacks the deep discomfort of existing within a misogynistic society. Originating from my personal frustrations of growing up as a tomboy in Korea, the story portrays the agonizing internal conflict between the pressure to survive (conform) and the journey toward self-affirmation (authenticity). Ultimately, this short film is an intimate declaration - I am one of you - aimed at all who have ever felt alienated or marginalized simply for being different.
