SYNOPSIS

PARK Soo-nam, a second-generation Korean-Japanese documentarist with failing eyesight, and her daughter PARK Maeui, decide to digitally restore their decades-old 16mm films. The deteriorating footage, spanning 100,000 feet, captures scenes of the labor, daily life, and testimonies of Korean victims of Japanese Imperialism.

DIRECTING INTENTION

This project began with 100,000 feet of 16mm film, shot by my mother, the committed writer and filmmaker, PARK Soo-nam. This film represents not only my mother's quest to immortalize the voices of these victims but also my personal journey as her devoted companion. It is a tribute to the countless hours invested in recording, digitizing, and resurrecting these voices. Through it all, it weaves the interconnected narratives of my mother and me, a tale that transcends time and memory.
