SYNOPSIS
Viewfinder showcases moments in the lives of several people who meet by accident at the Namgang Rest Stop off a highway in southern South Korea. Kyung is in search of her younger runaway sister. Chang is a computer whiz who had recently lost his job, Kim Vac is a reporter-photographer who frequents the place, and Ona is an orphan media artist who works there, dreaming of New Asia Highway. These four form a loose network of loss and negotiating that loss in the digital age.
DIRECTING INTENTION
For those who have spent the night traveling the highways The rest stop gleams like a lighthouse to those traversing the dark seas perhaps not so urgent - but offering the same kind of consolation. Kyung around 30 years old, is worried that her younger sister has run away from home. She receives a text message from her sister saying that she is in a highway rest stop in the south. Kyung sets out to find her. She arrives at the Namgang Rest Stop at dawn. So does a man named Chang, who handles computers like a magician. Kyung searches the area around the Rest Stop, and uses the Information center there to investigate runaway teenagers. On-a works in that Rest Stop, and Kim Vac, a reporter from the Tong Young Han San Newspaper stops there often to write articles. take pictures. The four : Kyung, Chang, On-a, and Kim Vac meet each other, but they don't meet and they search but do not find. Nevertheless, they reach his or her own healing. This is the time of loss and running away from home. In this time, how do hearts communicate- through text messages, phone calls, and images? How do we find each other? Or do we find each other?
