Detective Ko is a police from intelligence unit, who is in charge of managing North Korean refugees. Yunglim is an employee of an insurance company. Chulmin is son of the missing refugee. They gather at the site at which the missing car had been found…
DIRECTING INTENTION
Most of the refugees from North Korea decide to settle down in South korea. Sadly, their life in the South is not so beautiful as they once imagined to be. Rapid changes in politics and frameworks are not the sole reason why those refugees cannot blend in into the South Korean society. Rather, the most fundamental problem would be different perspectives of both North and South Korean people – byproduct of the truce that is lasting over fifty years. Though falling under the same ethnicity, sharing similar culture, they cannot help but to be hostile towards each other. I wanted to portray lives of North Korean refugees who fail to blend in and adrift instead.
