SYNOPSIS
A woman, living alone in the deserted cafe, diagnoses herself as depression. Therefore she wants to cry it out but to fail. But when she goes to the church with her friend, she gets into the situation which she finds hilarious. So her laughter changes into cry and from then she cannot help but crying. One day she gets hired as a weeping woman in the funeral and by doing this weird “part-time job,” she gets to know how people connect one another meaninglessly.
DIRECTING INTENTION
Once I read a story about a man who went to church to cry even though he was a Buddhist. Did he need someone to cry with, or a place to cry? Maybe he just needed a stimulus so he could shed tears. I think this story could belong to us all who are living in the modern society where we have to suppress our emotion. In this movie I wanted to describe a sad aspect of our society where people get confused about their own feelings not to speak of communicating with others. Even though this movie deals with “crying,” I tried to show it with irony and comedy so that people can connect with the story easily.
