SYNOPSIS
The story shows us the poor people’s harsh circumstances in the modern big city through the criminal case. A young boy’s body is found in the Han river which is located in the center of Seoul. The boy doesn’t have any wound and there is a burnt incense with him. Also a handful of rice is in his mouth. The experienced detective “Jong Min” is interested in this case but the result of the autopsy turns out that this is not a murder case. The boy had meningitis in the brain and it eventually killed him. The case is closed and Jong Min investigates other incidents. Three month later, Jong Min remembers the boy’s case unexpectedly on the chase of other incident. He follows a suspect for the boy’s case and finds out who the criminal is. However Jong Min realizes that the suspect is the boy’s mother and she performed funeral herself in the river because she didin’t even have the money for her son’s funeral service.
DIRECTING INTENTION
There once was a report that a young boy's body was found in Han River in the center of Seoul. However it turned out that mother of the boy performed funeral herself in the river because she didin’t even have the money for her son’s funeral service. After reading this report I would like to express and disclose the indifference of the people and the harsh circumstances of the modern mammoth city.
