The People’s Uprising on May 18th was a democratic uprising in arms against a brutal massacre, and the gun was the life. Although the civil community protected with blood was oppressed and the uprising was defeated, there still leaves a ‘life’ unreturned to the hearts of people.

‘임을 위한 행진곡’은 80년 광주민중항쟁 당시 시민군 대변인으로 도청을 사수하다가 전사한 윤상원 열사와 1979년 노동야학 활동 중 불의의 사고로 사망한 박기순 열사의 1982년 영혼결혼식에 바쳐진 노래로 항쟁 직후의 패배감과 좌절감을 극복하고 불굴의 저항과 투쟁의 의지를 담아낸
