SYNOPSIS
Episode 5. For whom the guns toll
This is a hip hop music video clip including documentary and animation, which satirizes Rohs Korean government which is nothing but a puppet pulled by Bushs American government that attacks Iraq. Now, we cant help laughing at Bush who is now threatening North Korea, and Kim JungIl who is ready to fight Bush with his nuclear weapons, and Roh Muhyun who is all dumb in this acute danger. All nonsense!
DIRECTING INTENTION
For whom the guns toll War and murders occur every minute on earth. War on Korea? It is unfortunately possible. Public enemies who want war should be fucked up the way this fusion music video clip satirizes them with slanderous hip hop rhythm and harsh documentary.
The omnibus project The Empire, one feature film, consists of 7 episodes which are created each by 7 independent film makers, who differ from one another in how they speak, but share one issue-what is the empire? In the film, The Empire, they speak of globalization in Neo-Liberalism, photography for wedding, circulation of power, family, school, war, migrant workers, Missile Defense System, and even nuclear to depict how violence and oppression are produced by the power that still works simultaneously in both daily life and the whole world. The Empire is everywhere. It is not far away from here but even in my body. And it is delicately entangled in our life and sometimes completely invisible. In short, it is desultory, but unique.
