SYNOPSIS

One day in 2005, not very far from Liberation Day of August 15, I met atomic bomb victims and opened my eyes to a world I had not known. Atomic bombs were dropped and 60 years later, I joined a long peace march from Seoul to Hiroshima to document the A-bomb issue. In doing so, I was able to reflect that the painful history of atomic bomb victims repeats itself to the second generation, and find out that solving the second generation problem is the path to historical progress and peaceful practice.

DIRECTING INTENTION

Year 2005 marks 60 years since liberation of Japanese colonial rule. I would like to remember the history of casualties and pain in the 60 years of atomic bomb, shaded behind the liberation. Through showing a sympathy and solidarity with the lives of the victims, I want people to pay attention to the second generation of atomic bomb victims whose history is repeated.
