By the edge of a lake, two friends play a round of "Guess Where I'm Looking." J marks the point of her gaze with a push-pin, and S's sensitive skin reacts to the drawn line.

There is an intimacy that allows skin and pin to meet. Within that closeness, the back of the body becomes the front of the relationship; the inside turns outward; the side comes to the fore. Skin becomes the surface where relationships are inscribed - a site that can be wounded, a subject open to harm yet capable of renewal. Vulnerability and the possibility of healing reveal themselves in the most ordinary of moments.
