Seoul, 1996. Wastewater from developed film reels is dumped into the sewers. From this toxic discharge, a monster awakens, carrying the memories of countless movies imprinted on the film reels. Burdened by a vanished past, the monster wanders the city. The film was shot in the heart of Seoul in early 2025, during a time of chaos and division in the aftermath of martial law and the presidential impeachment.

People usually turn away from the filth beneath their feet. But cinema does not push even the most avoided beings or things out of its frame. I wanted to gather the abandoned waste scattered across the world and breathe new life into it.
