TIME TABLE
SYNOPSIS

Haerim visits her grandmother’s coastal home dreaming of the sea, only to find the beach of her childhood paved over and inaccessible. Her inability to reach the water mirrors her own profound sense of displacement. An awkward reunion with her grandmother and aunt, the sweet yet alienating taste of canned peaches, a suddenly overturned umbrella - these scattered fragments make up her (un)ordinary journey. Through this empty summer, the film questions the very meaning of place and belonging.

DIRECTING INTENTION

Drawing from the director's research in urban planning, this film explores the scars left by failed development projects. Set in Masan, a region left in ruins after its dream of becoming the 'Dubai of Korea' failed, it turns its focus from grand narratives to the daily experiences of its residents. Through the protagonist's sensory journey to her grandmother’s house, the film captures a community's stagnant time, caught between past trauma and an uncertain future. Based on ethical reflections as a researcher, this work avoids a direct recreation of the town's development conflicts and was made possible through the trust and collaboration of local residents and fellow artists.
