TIME TABLE
SYNOPSIS

Sun-young, a nurse who takes care of her ailing father at the hospital where she works, learns from the doctor that her father is near death. She calls her younger brother, Il-hoe, to come. During the process, Sun-young discovers that her nephew, Dong-ho, had to give up college because of Il-hoe’s debts — and she is furious. Meanwhile, Il-hoe’s wife, Hyo-yeon, accidentally sends out a pre-written funeral notice text message to Kang Geum-soon, Sun-young’s wealthy aunt. Seeing an opportunity, Sun-young believes that if her aunt attends the funeral, the condolence money could cover Dong-ho’s college tuition. Sun-young decides to deceive her aunt by holding a fake funeral. Il-hoe, realizing he could also pay off his debts this way, expands the lie by sending funeral notices to everyone. The scheme soon spirals into irreversible tragedy.

DIRECTING INTENTION

When does a family fall apart? And when does it find its way back together? Where does the bond within a family truly come from? Perhaps the irony of leaving our deepest wounds on the ones we love the most is, after all, what defines the very meaning of family.
