A soldier returns to the village carrying a coffin. He is charged with murder, and people begin to judge his crime. As the soldier confesses, a woman appears to prove his innocence. According to her testimony, the soldier's only crime was loving her. Perhaps because their love blossomed by a grave, or perhaps because love already contains death within, God of Death appears and bestows death upon them. Not to be outdone, God of Life also appears and grants them life. The courtroom now descends into chaos with the man, woman, Death, and Life all in disarray. The jury begin to grow dissatisfied with this chaos, and even the judge is confused. Is the soldier guilty or innocent? Above all, who exactly did the soldier kill?
