He had sent his wife and child overseas a few years back. His daughter's education was not the real reason for their trip. It's his relationship with his wife, which was cold and indifferent. He was a mysterious and quiet man. The wife returns to Korean when she hears that her husband, who spent most of his time fishing, is missing. On a boat, she frantically looks for her husband but the coast guards tell her that there's little hope of finding him alive. She reads the letter her daughter wrote to him, listens to a recording of his voice and traces the places he went fishing. In a hushed voice, she makes a last pledge to her missing husband.

The flare to find the missing person in the distance was burnt quietly and fell down. Watching the flare light disappearing vainly like devouring the darkness, he was sitting on a small rock. The rock was too small to be called as an island.
