SYNOPSIS
What and by which method are the rally participants trying to speak in the candlelight rally? Are their actions justifiable or valuable? Nobody knows how big their voices will function throughout a conservative society. Instead they are taken to the police as a lawbreaker and condemned as an impure element by the conservative press. Even so, they are not stopping the discussion, struggling, flags, dance, music to communicate with the country. ‘The true communication for the country’, this is the method and value exactly what I think the rally participants are trying to speak and express. I believe the lightened candlelights and the stories that were told on this street will turn into the light of Korea and come back as a democratic echo someday.
DIRECTING INTENTION
The greatest agenda by the press of the Republic of Korea in 2008, would definitely be the candlelight rally. Unfortunately either conservative or progressive, most of the press leads this problem in their own political way, with no such interest in the features within the candlelight rally and the numerous democratic values which are happening inside. I took part in the rally myself in order to incorporate the image of what I saw and felt about the true shape and the democratic values of the rally in the point of view of a normal citizen. Beyond the political argument, the purpose I ran into the scene of the candlelight rally is to inform and dissolve the outright image of the truth and its value which the people in the rally are struggling to say unlike the current press.
