A middle-aged woman gets off a bus at Muju Terminal. She passes through the town roads and walks into a forest. She hears the sound of a bell in the forest and senses that she has arrived at her destination. She starts to search for the vestiges of her life from beyond the grave. Meanwhile, after graduating from college in Seoul, Minjae returns to her hometown of Muju and works at the county office as she lives with her recently widowed mother. Minjae’s mother is displeased that she has returned to her hometown. Minjae’s boyfriend and childhood friend, Taegyu, looks after his sick grandmother in the hospital while he lives at and takes care of his grandparents' house. One day, Minjae’s friend from college, Kyungyoon, who hadn’t been in touch for a while, comes to see her.

When you linger in an empty and abandoned house for a moment, you are greeted with images of life. And that is because there are vestiges of something beautiful within those ruins. (Kim Jong-kwan)
