A mother, a care worker left with nothing but a rundown house, refuses her daughter’s request to lend her a large sum of money. When the daughter realizes that her mother isn’t even eligible for a bank loan, she moves into her mother’s house with her lesbian partner. Thrown into an awkward cohabitation, the mother directs all her energy into care taking at the nursing home. At work, she cannot help identifying herself and her daughter, with the elderly woman she is taking care of, who is suffering from dementia, loneliness, and poverty.

On the surface, this film may seem like a simple story of social minorities, with a mother insisting on the idea of a ‘normal family’, a lesbian daughter and her partner, and a solitary old woman with dementia. However, the film explores further into the possibility of understanding anyone other than our own selves in this world, full of discrimination, inequality, generation conflicts, gender troubles, violence and hate, where diversity is not valued,
