When a woman tries to have a one night stand with a man she met at a bar, a thief breaks into her house at a decisive moment. The situation gets confusing. Now, a fan is looking down every moment of them.

Taking place for the most part inside an apartment, <동心> (One-minded) is centered around a 15-minute long take shot from the point-of-view of an oscillating fan, which functions as the film’s main character. While the fan is all-knowing, the five characters who, one by one, enter the apartment have varying and limited degrees of understanding of their own predicament. Furthermore, each character’s arrival triggers a change of tone, shifting from suspenseful to comedic to dramatic. Thus, the audience finds itself in the playful and ambiguous position of always having a better grasp on the overall situation than the characters themselves, but sharing the visual confinement of the fan. Designed to be both absurd, unpredictable and touching, <동心> (One-minded) is a Korean short film directed by a French and an American filmmakers who set out to make an otherworldly cocktail of multi-lingual and geographically non-specific eccentricities.
