SYNOPSIS

In the fall of 2001, the campaign to help 11 unidentified martyrs find their families begins. The sons of Lee Geun-Rye and Lee Gui-Bok have been missing since the protest of May 18th, 1980. They observes the exhumation course, hoping they could find the bones of their sons.
Finally 6 bodies were identified through genetic testing. Lee Gui-Bok failed again to find his son but Lee Geun-Rye found her son. The remaining 5 bodies are still waiting for their families.
Authorities have proceeded with exhumations in 9 reported places but all unearthed bones turned out not to belong to the 518 victims, The names we must find still remain out there.

DIRECTING INTENTION

It has been 30 years since Gwangju Democratic Movement of the May 18th, 1980(aka 518 Democratic Movement). The recent course to exhume 11 unidentified bodies martyred during this uprising reminds us that we still have unsolved problems like missing persons and secret burial..
