There is an empty house that has not been inhabited for a long time. An old woman’s small feet are built along a cave-like stone wall. The door was already open. The long spiral staircase that rises high between the door and the door is the moment she survived. The stairs, where the struggle for survival unfolds, become a space to regenerate the moment of life, and a dance begins to select the eliminated. Their movement under the guise of play is a desperate effort to crash each other and a fierce battle to win the few remaining seats. In the retrospective of the sadness of the survivor, the eerie scene of death is repeated, and the song of the joint sung by the bamboo forest facing the winter is sad and beautiful. December 31st, 32nd……. Seventy days, the last day of December continues.

This story is a survivor’s recollection. An old woman faces the moments of survival in the course of her life. In the encounters of nine children during the path where she has reached a high point, a scene of death has been repeated. December 70th is a dance film based on a reinterpretation of the performance This Is Not a Game choreographed by Nam Jeong-ho. Movements of survival and death, achievement and emptiness in the original piece are brought back to a place in which life and death cross each other while the steps of the old woman imply nodes of death. Competition creates nodes. The time of protecting oneself and that of endurance became nodes. The door of these nodes opens.
