SYNOPSIS

The Jirisan Dam would completely submerge Yongyudam and Euitan village. A film about what we already have lost and what we will not have to lose.

DIRECTING INTENTION

There is a beautiful river named Yongyudam around Euitan Village in Jiri Mountain. Due to the four-river project, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Korea Water Resources Corporation have plans to build a dam near this place. If the dam is built, this village will be submerged. I don’t want to call it destruction of the environment, because it is destruction of the life of the dwellers there, and at the same time it is a crime to destroy the life of the people who do not live there as well. It is nothing but pulling out our two eyes which nature gave us and throwing them out. The four river project is still going on. Nature never talks, but time of human beings is nothing more than a moment comparing it with time of nature.
