When the contract period for a resident artist ends, they have to move their studio. Many artists have begun to move from one neighborhood. Moving has become a common routine for the artists of the 'Totatoga' residency working in Jungang-dong, old downtown Busan. A story about our rooms, doors, windows and the ways.
Where did all the cats raised in Hiyo's room go? The sound of sewing machines heard in the textile artists' rooms has now stopped. However, the sound of fruit trucks passing through the alleys, the sound of printing machines, the sound of digging at construction sites, and the FM radio signal music that tells the time of day are still there.

During the Korean War, the printing alley and the area around the 40 steps in Jungang-dong, Busan were the streets of refugees. It is now a home for artists with dozens of residential spaces scattered in every alley. However, due to the reality of old buildings and limited contract periods, the artists were refugees of another time. One day, news of the demolition of the Aseong Building, the oldest building in the residential space, came to me. As a resident artist of a neighboring building, this news came as a symbolic event, and I wanted to keep a special record of the time and place where we met and stayed.
At that time, I was in an exciting experience of the physical properties of the film while learning the process of shooting, developing, and editing with a super 8mm camera. In particular, the blurry silhouette and rough film texture were considered a suitable way to express the afterimage of memory, and I made a collage by gathering special images of places and fragments of everyday sounds centered around the studios of artists who were scheduled to move.
