SYNOPSIS

The director, who works as a contract worker at a major corporation, wants to become a permanent employee. One day she discovers an apple tree in front of the company building. She observes its growth day by day, and after four months of watching, she decides to secretly pick an apple, ripe and crimson, and take a bite. Why did she do it?

DIRECTING INTENTION

The film sought to unveil a facet of Korea's 'exam meritocracy', where passing tests equals capability, and it's considered natural for those who pass tests to gain social status and rights. It reveals a society where a single exam can guarantee most aspects of one's life, while those who fail become labeled as losers.
