18-year-old Park Hwa-young lives alone at home where her so-called “friends” freely use to hang out, get drunk, and have sex. While they call her “mama”, they never let her join their clique except for Mi-jeong, an actress trainee and the clique’s queen thanks to her relationship with Young-je, a high school hooligan. As Young-je extremely disapproves of Mi-jeong to hang out with Hwa-young, Hwa-young can only await her at home. One day, Mi-jeong asks Hwa-young to be her real mom; but much as Hwa-young tries to be one, she only enrages Young-je to the point of no return and begins to feel more distant from Mi-jeong.

Belonging to a clique for an individual leads inevitably to establishing a “relationship”: such may be of friends, family, society, or partner, and more. The member of the society gets to establish a relationship just as natural as breathing in and out. But the individual has one’s own method of maintaining such relationships; and the methods may be a piece of cake for some, but also a task to conquer for the others. Through the eyes and the heart of the eighteen-year-old Park Hwa-young living in the extreme struggle for survival within a distorted relationship, I would like to pose a question on “relationship” where everyone at one point in their lives has come into conflict and confronted.
