Sean, a Korean-American, is an aspiring filmmaker who came to Korea dreaming of becoming the next Bong Joon-ho. Hyejung, working at a supermarket in Seoul, once studied acting in the United States, lives holding onto that dream, though the reality she faces is not easy. Even though today is different from their ideals, Sean and Hyejung live life in their own way. The camera quietly follows their challenges and love from behind.

Over the past 20 years, thanks to several outstanding directors and filmmakers, Korean cinema has gained international prestige through achievements once thought impossible, including awards at prestigious international film festivals and remarkable domestic and international accomplishments. However, what's the reality of the film industry and environment for the majority? The Korean film scene has been swept away by a tsunami or 'virus', and the 'film people'... or the 'surplus people' (directors whose films failed at the box office, aspiring directors living in dreams alone, aspiring actors who feel they could still give great performances, professional staff who might end up doing delivery or driver services) might need to give up their vain dreams and desires quickly for their lives and futures.
Nevertheless, we still want to love, unite, and dream about film and art. We want to believe that art cannot be dictated by the logic of money. That's why we want to encourage one another if we happen to run into each other. I made this film with the desire to embrace these 'cultural people' otherwise known as 'surplus people'.
