TIME TABLE
SYNOPSIS

In the city of Almaty, Kazakhstan, apple statues and monuments are frequently seen. However, actual apples are rarely visible. Some people seem upset by this fact. The more people who try to protect the apples meet, the more stories about the political situation are heard, alongside the personal stories. Since gaining independence from the Soviet Union, the city has continued to develop, and people's demands have grown more complex, while the apples are gradually disappearing. Questions about the desires surrounding Almaty are gradually being discussed.

DIRECTING INTENTION

What does the word ‘change’ truly mean? Is it the same as ‘development’? Just as we talk about how the economy grows, are we also talking enough about how society and culture are changing? These questions, which started from the disappearance of the Aport apples in Kazakhstan, led us to reflect on what kind of change each person wants. When we questioned and responded to our own desires, we finally began to (re)define the meaning of the city, while individually shaping our own history and paths.
