The family is having a difficult time accepting the fact that their dog is aging and weakening. As their home is selected as a redevelopment area, the family moves, but the old dog barks as if it is reluctant to leave its old house. In the end, they all move to the house of the eldest son. Not long after, however, the dog separates itself from the family and goes back to the old house to live as a stray dog. Despite seeing the shabby appearance of the old dog, the family ignores the dog, and soon gets used to this uncomfortable feeling. On a rainy day, the second brother sees the old dog lying on its deathbed. Given the situation where it is difficult to evade or avoid, the brothers reluctantly take turns to take care of the old dog.

My mother, who gave birth to me with her maternal affection, raised me with love, and sacrificed herself for her child. As the years passed, I grew distant to my mother, turned into a stranger, and locked the door from my mother. I lived, forgetting about her until she was old and diseased, and died alone. Some people realize the fact that their mothers will pass away soon, but some do not realize it until it happens. Sometimes, I would wake up in shock early in the morning, thinking about the horrible and cruel things I did in the past. I was so foolish back then, and I regret it a lot, so I wanted to talk about this story containing the guilt I feel towards my mother.
