In a deep dark forest, a mother lives with her daughter. Befallen by a mysterious illness, the mother sends the daughter away to get her the cure. Throughout the journey, the daughter is being followed by an ominous shadow that later turns into a threatening monster. The encounter with it leads the daughter to an erotic dream land, where she discovers unknown desires of herself. Later, shocked by the duality of this world, the daughter returns back home. But, the greatest shock is yet to come…

"Tale of Blood" is a 19 minute long paper-cut puppet animation in the style of early silent cinema. It tells the story about an ambiguous relationship between a mother and her daughter. The story involves a midnight adventure through the dark forest, encounters with monsters and a short trip to an erotic dream land. The film is about suppressed female desires, that uncannily return as monstrous Doppelgaengers within the patriarchal society.
